I’ve been trying to teach myself to refer to anyone over age 18 as a “man” or a “woman”, rather than a “girl” or a “boy” (or even a “guy”, in certain situations), but it hasn’t been easy to make the transition. I still let “girl” slip through a lot. It was easier to make the transition away from calling my peers “boy” because everyone else stopped calling them that as well, but my peers keep calling each other girls so it reinforces the habit and I end up saying something like, “How many girls will be there?”
I dunno, to me, using “man” and “woman” is uncomfortable. Partly ‘cause they’re so sexually-charged and just old and...
