Dude that’s not “matriarchy,” that’s patriarchy and misogyny coming back to bite men in the ass.

See, femininity is equated to weakness under patriarchy. So when a guy wants to dress in something that is deemed “feminine” it is seen as unmasculine and thus lesser/weak. Because under patriarchy, why lower yourself, as a man, to femininity? 

While when a woman dresses in a masculine fashion, it’s more acceptable because what is masculine is deemed as superior and strong, so long as she maintains gender conformist behavior as a woman.

I hate to be the person to pull out the Madonna quote, but this really captures the reality of the point you believe you’re making.
